A few weeks ago the internet was full of sites spreading the news about Johnny Deep as The Riddler in Batman 3. But apparently it wasn’t anything official because David Goyer, creator of the script of The Dark Knight, revealed that those news were mere wrong. He also talked about the possibility of a third movie without Nolan, because he’s taking a long vacation and the next movie in his schedule isn’t exactly about bats.
He said that he hasn’t even talked to Chris about a third movie and that the best thing to do is forget about Batman movies for a while. So all this means that a possible third movie hasn’t been talked about at all, nor a script or possible villain. The best thing to do right now is to keep reading Batman comic issues that are pretty good at this moment with the end of the RIP arc in Batman # 681-682 and Detective Comics # 850-851.
Some of you may know it already and some others may not, but the latest news on the Daredevil world are that a new villains just made her first appearance. That is completely true. The fact is that Lady Bullseye was revealed in Daredevil # 111. It’s too early to start making conclusions about the character, what would she be? A friend or foe, s she gonna fall in love with Matt? The character was barely revealed in the issue and even though we had a little background story about whom’s she, where does she come from, and what was her purpose to start wearing a costume.
While Matt Murdock is a little entertained with Dakota, this lady comes to town trying to find a little more about some of the criminals of New York. We also got that she doesn’t work alone; she works for a very rare man whose name I don’t know yet and whose purpose isn’t killing Daredevil, at least not now. She doesn’t have any personal vendetta against Matt nor Daredevil. She’s a girl from Tokyo, maybe a slave, who was prisoner of a criminal band and saw from her cage how Bullseye killed the complete group of criminal without missing any shot and being completely indestructible, and invincible. She made it out of the cage while in the middle of the fight and completely fell in love with Bullseye’s very own killing style and his majesty targeting abilities.
After all that I presume she learnt to do a lot of acrobatic tricks and create or learnt her very own fighting style, very similar to Bullseye’s. We still don’t know she managed to get to know that man who’s no kind of her boss and how and why they came to New York. We also still don’t know what they purposes really are and what would they do either against Bullseye or Daredevil.
The character looks strong, has a good background story and to me it appears like she will be a really bad pain in the butt. Or a very nice ally, but she might fall in love with Matt or Daredevil and that could push her to hate Elektra or Dakota and that wouldn’t make Matt very happy so he would have to do something about it. She also can fall in love with Bullseye and he can make her kill her boss, which I presume is her mentor also, and that would make them both a real pain in the butt. One of the good things about this new character is that she doesn’t have anything personal against any of the characters which can be very useful because she can fit in both, the good and the bad guys.
If you haven’t read Daredevil # 111 go ahead and do it because you can become a witness of one of Daredevil’s worst enemies. Daredevil # 112 will be in stores this October 22, so hurry up and read # 111.
Daredevil # 112: Lady Bullseye Part 2
So we get a little more background story on this new Lady Bullseye. Now we know she works for the Hand or at least for someone inside the Hand and she’s very inspired by Bullseye. Her goal in New York is basically to take DD out of the equation but she won’t attack him or face him, at least not yet. Her technique is to keep him busy but not to fight him.
Now this issue kind of sucked to me because it was like too superficial and I don’t like that thing, “not just a bit”. What I mean by superficial is that they tried to make a lot of things to happen in the same issue and they didn’t make them well. For example Daredevil gets in jail and out of jail in a matter of minutes, so we are not going to talk a lot about this issue.
The art kind of sucked too because I’m very exigent with the art in a comic book, that’s why I don’t like The Dark Knight Returns, so this style is interesting but is so grotesque and so gothic that it doesn’t look good to me, it just doesn’t. And this new Lady Bullseye is getting a little boring to me when I expected that she would be really cool. But it stills too early to judge, we’ve only seen her in two issues and one of them didn’t said anything at all about her. I’m not into the Secret Invasion arc but I think that what killed Elektra was one of those aliens from that arc because she’s all green with the weird chin. And of course everyone blames DD from killing her.
This issue is not as revealing as I expected but it stills an important issue because of the introduction to Lady Bullseye who might become one of Daredevil’s bloodiest and deadliest foes. Just go and read it!
Detective Comics # 849
I finally got it. I’ve been wondering what does Detective Comics has to do with the RIP arc since the first issue with the 3 letters at the top. What does Hush has to do with the Black Glove or The Joker? What is Catwoman role between these 2 storylines? Well I have some answers to y’all today, good answers or bad depending on how you look at them as.
The best way to link Batman and Detective Comics is just not linking them in any possible way because there’s no possible way to make one of them have to do with the other. Let me explain myself:
The RIP arc is about the end of Batman, his death, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be shared in two different publications like Batman monthly issues and Detective Comics. It means that if in one of them doesn’t appear any threat capable of killing Batman, then it is not following the storyline or the main idea of an RIP story. It was only until the latest issue of Detective Comics that I noticed it.
In Detective Comics # 849 Hush reveals his plastic surgeon and pretends to take over Bruce’s social life and destroy it as he destroys the real Bruce. He poisoned the real Bruce using some strange toxin that paralyzes him and privates him from his abilities to move. Now if you completely forget about Batman issues you’ll see that all this leads to the destruction of Bruce’s entire life and eventually Batman. We can’t forget about Catwoman’s difficult status, without her heart, which also affects Bruce directly.
All this leads to the destruction of Batman, isn’t that what the R.I.P. (Rest In Peace) arc is all about?
Batman #680
WOW!!!! This issue motivated me, really, Im not exaggerating. I mean the balance between the action and the talking scenes is extremely well done. The art hasn’t change in any way but the angles and the colors give you the perfect idea of where the characters are, it gives you a gothic idea you can even picture yourself inside the place. I really enjoyed it.
It kind of reminds me of The Batman (TV series) because it used to have episodes in where the bad guys started saying quotes that had a double meaning trying to give Batman hints of what they purpose was until Batman found out at the end of the episode. That is basically what I most liked from the comic, beside the art and the colors.
Now let’s talk about the plot. The Joker is back in action and with a bloody plan, like always, but this time he doesn’t wanna kill Batman or make him mad, all he’s doing this time is making fun of him and playing with him, as he always do, but he’s also saying all those words that make no sense at all, which I presume are the key to everything and I think Batman did figured it out at the end of the comic but we won’t know what it really is.
Damien and Talia are back, right on time to help Gordon and Batman. It’s nice because it’s the first I read a comic with Damien on it. Robin doesn’t appear on this issue, oh wait, yes he does, but only on the cover.
I’ll say: what the heck are you waiting for to go get the comic. But I know that you already did so it’s cool. No seriously, it is one of the best issues of the R.I.P arc and I know you’ll enjoy it and love it as much as I do. Good choice and good luck to y’all.
Game Informer revealed the confirmed new of a Batman video game on the making. Rocksteady Studios and Eidos are behind the project and it is expected to be released in 2009 for PC, XBOX 360 and PS3 formats.
The Joker would be the main villain while Harley Quinn, Killer Crock, The Penguin, The Riddler, The Scarecrow, and even more are the villains that could be used to bring some problems into Batman’s life. The project is being written by Paul Dini (Justice League, Batman Beyond) and will be the story of many of Gotham’s madness pile together in the same place, trying to escape, and kill the bat. The game would not be the any kind of tie in to any TV series or film.
Until now very limited information has been revealed to the media and probably the most exciting thing about the project is Dini’s involvement and the story he’s creating for the game sounds like really good.
Now all we have to do is waiting until the game comes out and starts living the emotion. In the meantime let’s check these screenshots:
Will we ever get to see a Justice League movie?
The rumors about a new project began to gain strength at the beginning of the year (2008) when a new script started to circulate around the media. Warner Bros even gathered a group of actors, mostly young-not famous actors to play the characters and sent them with a group of filmmakers to Canada where they should start filming. The director of the movie is (as he appears in IMDB.com) George Miller.
Due to problems with the script, Warner Bros decided to cancel the project. The working name of the movie is Justice League: Mortal. The writers are Kieran Mulroney (co-screenplay) and Michele Mulroney (co-screenplay).
At the very beginning I heard that the movie wouldn’t have Batman or Superman as main figures. Some of the possible reasons were that at the beginning they would be killed by Darkside and the remaining members of the league should find the way of leading the league without the help of the “top two”. Obviously Superman and Batman fans didn’t like the idea and a lot of them dropped by those sites and leaved comments showing they dislikes toward the idea.
Another reason why the movie was canceled was because they wanted to film in Australia but the Australian government denied the permission so they have to move the team to Canada.
As you can see the movie has had being through a lot of problems since the first day of its approbation. However the movie is scheduled to 2011 and here’s the list of the possible cast:
Adam Broody as Barry Allen/The Flash
Teresa Palmer as Talia Al Ghul
Common as Green Lantern/John Stewart
Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman/ Arthur Curry
D.J. Cotrona as Superman/Clark Kent
Armie Hammer as Batman/Bruce Wayne
Megan Gale as Wonder Woman/Princess Diana
Zoe Kazan as Iris Allen
Hugh Keays-Byrne as J’onn J’onzz/ Martian Manhunter
All these actors haven’t been confirmed to participate in the movie and the list was copied from IMDB.com.
Avengers new TV Series
Further strengthening its robust animation slate, Marvel Animation, a division of Marvel Entertainment, announced today the production of an all new animated series, “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.” Production on 26 half-hour episodes is already underway using the production services of Film Roman, producer of “The Simpsons” and “King of the Hill.”
The new series, expected to be available for broadcast in 2011, continues on Marvel’s already impressive television line-up which includes the all-new “Wolverine and the X-Men” and “Iron Man: Armored Adventures” series that will both debut on Nicktoons in 2009. Marvel Animation will also debut the all-new series “Marvel Super Hero Squad” and “The Black Panther” next year.
“The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” is an all-new property featuring some of Marvel’s all-time favorite characters including Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Giant Man and Wasp. When the planet is threatened by super villains, time traveling conquerors, alien invaders, mythical monsters and mad robots bent on the total destruction of humanity, when forces of evil are so overwhelming that no single hero has the power to save the world, when there is no hope left…the Avengers assemble!
The Avengers are the best of the best in the Marvel Universe and the greatest heroes who take on the most unbeatable foes. These are the heroes who hold back the storm, and the fate of the world rests on their shoulders.
“The addition of ‘The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ to our quickly expanding animation slate continues our plan to complement each of our tentpole live action features with an animated series,” said Eric Rollman, President of Animation. “This new ensemble series tracks perfectly with our highly anticipated ‘road to the Avengers’ strategy which includes some of Marvel’s biggest and most beloved characters, and which kicks off with two Avengers’ themed feature films in summer 2011.”

Daredevil Reboot?
Since a couple of days ago when Tom Rothman, agent of 20th Century Fox, talked about a possible Daredevil reboot the new has spread really fast through the entire internet.
I personally think that it is a wonderful new. Since Daredevil is my favorite Marvel character I think it sucked that it first movie wasn’t anything like the comics, at all. However the first movie was OK for people who didn’t know the character at all, like me back then, but I liked it so much that I started reading more about Daredevil and when the Elektra movie came out it was even better because I started knowing more about all the Daredevil world. But the movie Elektra didn’t had a lot of information about Daredevil, not just a bit, so I decided to begin reading Daredevil comics and I started with the Frank Miller 2 volumes graphic novel. I instantly fell in love with the character and still reading monthly issues until today. So I would give the 2003 movie a 6/10.
Ben Affleck as Daredevil was a really good choice. The way he incarnated the character was really moving, even with a script that wasn’t all the dark we would have expected from a movie about a blind kid who grows up to become an iconic figure, but one of the things that Affleck’s Matt didn’t have was a red hair. Jennifer Garner as Elektra was AWESOME but the director didn’t respect the original costume so he came up with a black costume that people didn’t like at all. Anyways, she was really cool as Elektra and even cooler in Elektra the movie. Colin Farrell’s Bullseye, another good performance but the director didn’t respect the original costume, again, so he ended up with a stupid target impression in his forehead and a cool costume but not the original one.
Now I dedicate this paragraph to talk about the BLACK KINGPING. The problem wasn’t Michael Clarke Duncan or his ethnicity. Again, the problem was the director because I think Clarke’s performance was one of those in where you just want to jump into the TV and kick his butt, y’all know what I mean, but it’s just that the real Kingpin, the one from the comics, is not black so people tend to don’t like when you change the original stuff from the comics. So I hope that if they get to do a new movie the director they choose could be a little more respectful to the original comic story and the original characters, and costumes.
I would really like to see a new movie because Daredevil is one of those heroes that I call my type. He works alone, he doesn’t usually like to be around with other people and when something happens to them he blames himself, something like Batman. So if they get to choose an OK director the movie will suck. If they go with a VERY GOOD director then the movie will be worth a lot. Just wishing luck to the studio and PLEASE do something cool with the character.
Superman/Batman Public Enemies
This is probably one of the weirdest reviews you’ll read in your life because I haven’t finish reading the book, LOL. But let’s get to the topic. Today’s Special is Superman/Batman Vol. 1 Public Enemies. It’s a compilation of the first 5 issues of the popular monthly issues that features two of the world’s finest heroes of all times. During the publication of these issues Batman and Superman are forced to work together due to circumstances that escape their powers boundaries and have to search for a better way of keeping the bad guy[s] from doing their dirty jobs.
I mostly like from these series and majorly from this book that the chemistry between the two characters is just so hilarious. This book is basically a comparison between the two characters. The first page shows Batman’s and Superman’s origin stories as if they were only one, but at the same time it compares how different were the circumstances that lead both of them to become the extraordinary characters they are.
For example after Clark lands on Earth and is found by the Kents he says: at that moment, my childhood began. And after the murder of the Waynes, Batman says: at that moment’ my childhood ended. Those lines are part of Superman’s dream and Batman’s nightmare.
But let’s get to the plot of this book. It shouldn’t be a mystery that in this book Batman and Superman are being searched for the police and specialized forces, remember the title? Public Enemies. But why? Well, a kryptonite meteor, probably the size of Brazil, is on its way to Earth, and president Luthor doesn’t take too long to blame superman for it. He offers a million bucks to whoever brings Superman to “justice”. At that time Batman has just saved Superman’s life and has just discovered that John Corben, Metallo, it’s the murderer of his parents. The discussion gets intense between them both but before they can finish it a mysterious character makes his triumphal entrance, or appearance, in the Bat-cave. I’m talking about an older Superman who comes from the future to stop himself from doing what he knows he did and changed the planet in a very wrong way. Sounds confusing right? But then he can’t do anything because our heroes are able to defeat him in less than eight pages.
After that they head to Washington DC to prove their innocence and to stop Luthor from whatever he’s gonna do because the older Superman told them just after die that they must be careful with Luthor. And that’s where I ended reading today so if it sounds exciting to you, so does it to me because I don’t know how this is gonna ends either and what’s Luthor’s plan this time.
No wonder why is this such a good book, with Jeph Loeb (The Long Halloween), Ed McGuinness(Thundercats: Reclaiming Thundera) and Dexter Vines(Uncanny X-Men) as its principal artistic figures.
Nothing else to say, just go ahead and read it and if you already did, recommend it!
Daredevil real powers
In compensation for his lost sight, Daredevil’s other four senses have been preternaturally enhanced.
His sense of touch is sensitive enough to detect the faint impressions of ink on paper, allowing him to read by touch. He is also able to feel minute changes in temperature and pressure, enough to sense a human body at a distance of five feet, due to body heat and air disturbance. His sensitivity to heat allows him to sense the temperature of people and objects in order to determine whether a person is alive, how long they have been dead if they are not, and other changes in body temperature such as blushing or the heating up associated with various emotional states, as well as residual body heat on an object, or how recently a machine has been in use.
Daredevil’s sense of smell is enhanced enough to distinguish individuals by their natural odors, and remember and identify them no matter how they attempt to mask their scent, as well as track that individual scent through a crowd of people at a distance of roughly 50 feet.
His sense of taste is sharp enough to enable him to detect the number of grains of salt on a pretzel. His ability to remember tastes enables him to determine every ingredient of a food or drink he tastes, as long as there are at least 20 milligrams of that substance present.
Daredevil’s enhanced sense of hearing enables him to detect an acoustic pressure change of 1 decibel at a pressure level of 7, whereas the average human can only detect a sound as low as 20 decibels. He can even hear people speaking through a standard soundproofed wall. Daredevil is also able to hear a heartbeat from 20 feet away, as well as identify people by their individual beat rhythm, or detect whether they are lying or not by the changes in their heartbeat, though a pace maker or self control will confuse his reading. Not only does Daredevil’s hearing allow him to be constantly aware of his own heartbeat, blood circulation, breathing, physical movements, etc, but he is also able to hear and sense the same attributes in other people. One of the primary ways he does this is by hearing the reverberations made by ambient sounds on objects and people, giving him a sonar-like sense of where things are, and how dense they are. And while he is able to block out a good amount of background noise, he can also be excessively disoriented by unexpected loud noises and can be confused when immersed in the wash of sound from a busy crowd.
Along with the enhancement of Daredevil’s normal senses, he has gained another sense which he calls his Radar Sense. According to one theory, this sense reacts to an emission of electromagnetic energy a mutation in his brain has caused, reading the reverberations of this energy as a 360º, 3-D map of objects. This “sight” is not perfect, and can only give Daredevil an impression of the exact physical shape of objects, not a literal one. Closely overlapping objects can also confuse this sense.
The mutations that have heightened Daredevil’s level of sensitivity have also increased his awareness of other forms of electromagnetic radiation. He is capable of detecting and identifying any electromagnetic radiation on the standard scale; from radio waves, (which he can only detect, not understand the message) all the way to gamma waves, and everything in between. He is also able to judge the strength of a given radiation and even differentiate between individual colors by the amount of radiation they give off. At very close range, Daredevil is able to detect the micro voltage of a human being’s brain.
Abilities
Daredevil possesses the strength, speed, agility, and endurance, not to mention acrobatic and gymnastic skills, of an Olympic-level athlete. Through a combination of the tutelage of Stick and self-training, Daredevil is a master of a unique martial art form, which is a hybridized form of American boxing and the Japanese arts of ninjutsu, judo and aiki-jujutsu. Martial arts training has given him an immense degree of concentration and personal control over his body and energy, or Ki. Daredevil is also an accomplished criminal trial lawyer.
Hollywood acclaimed director and actor Kenneth Branagh is preparing everything to bring us what we all have been waiting for: a Thor movie with the prospect possible actor Brad Pitt.
The Oscar nominated director has cleared his scheduled for the next two years with the intention of start working on the movie as soon as possible. He renounced to direct Hamlet with the purpose of start working on the movie. I think that if a director wants so bad to make a movie with a character that is already a classic can brings us a possibly perfect movie, as long as he respects the original character and if he wants to make changes try to don’t make major changes, especially in the costumes.
Another good thing about this project is the possibility of seeing Brad Pitt as the god of thunder. A movie like this is not anything unusual to him, because we have seen him in titles like Troy and Interview with the Vampire which doesn’t relate to gods but shows a supernatural characteristic of him, and he did an astonishing performance in both movies. He has the right look; he’s probably the perfect actor to incarnate the hero. His body practically doesn’t need any work out, and I’m pretty sure he will make us all happy.
This movie is part of the process of making movies of the principal Avengers characters to, at the end, make an Avengers movie. But I don’t know if we will get to see Brad in both, Thor and The Avengers, but it would be perfect.
Do you think we would get to see Brad Pitt as Thor, or that it will be worth to see a Thor movie?
Do you think that Kenneth Branagh is going to be a good director for this movie?

DC Comics is taking the bat-mania to all the possible levels that it can be taken. As a prove of it, and after the unbelievable and in some ways unexpected triumph of The Dark Knight, Warner Bros and DC are spending on a new bat-project. This time they’re hitting the small screen with the upcoming TV series: Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
The series is an adaptation of the comic under the same name and it’s scheduled to debut this November 14, 2008 in Cartoon Network.
Just like the comic, the series will feature Batman teaming up with other superheroes all over the world. Guys like Aquaman, Adam Strange, Blue Beetle, Black Canary, Green Arrow, etc. Also we are going to be seeing some of the worst DC’s villains and Batman usually will be found out the limits of Gotham City.
From my very personal point of view I think it’s going to be an interesting ride and even though it looks like it’s targeted to a younger audience it is going to be a non-seen before Batman style (we all know Batman works alone). The art looks old-school and interestingly looks very detailed and the animation is very modern. Like I said before it is going to be targeted to a younger audience and probably it is not going to be very accepted by a lot of fans, specially Batman Begins and The Dark Knight fans, but it’s going to be a good opportunity to introduce the character to little kids who are not allowed to watch the new movies.
My favorite Batman TV series so far is The Batman, and TAS but I think it will be worth to take a look at this new series, I just wish it won’t be like The Spectacular Spider-man because I hate that one. Well I think the invitation has been made, just try to take a look at this new series and become the judge.
